Saturdays in Seattle

Hello my lovely blogger friends! I know, I know; I have been horribly absent from blogging lately, & I'm truly sorry for my lack of posts! Just so you know, there have been serious issues/changes happening in my personal life and I have really needed to focus on my family and myself, which I am sure we can all relate to at times. That being said, I have missed staying up to date with all of the blogs I read, and with writing as well! To get back into the swing of things, I wanted to share with you all my trip to Seattle this past Saturday.

My sister & I were in need of an escape from our home town, we simply wanted to get away and spend some time just having FUN. We decided it was time to get our rear ends into the city, go to the zoo, and do some shopping. I must say, it was much needed, and very much so enjoyed!

We of course went to the Woodland Park Zoo and all in all it was an amazing day to see the animals. They were all pretty full of life and mobile that day so we got to see lots of fun things. Here's a few pictures I'd like to share...

I highly recommend that if you're ever doing any shopping in Seattle you check out University Village. We live about an hour outside the city, and it really is the closest place for decent shopping. We stopped by some really cool stores, such as Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Lululemon Athletica, Barnes & Noble, TheNorthFace, the Apple Store, Crate & Barrel, Storables, and of course Sephora, not to mention a few other really neat and fun places.

I have never actually been into a Sephora store, I tend to do most of my shopping online as shipping costs are lower than gas prices, but my sister was in need of a good foundation and that's something that you want to make sure you get the proper shade in. All in all, it was an extremely fun experience. I don't think we've spoiled ourselves like that quite possibly ever, so it really felt great to get away and just have fun for the day. Here's a couple of the things I am most excited about that I picked up while we were shopping...

A book from B&N that looks like a promising read: Shine by Lauren Myracle.
I also snagged 2 Tarte Lip Tints, the colors I chose were Charmed & Peaceful.
I caved & picked up the NARS Orgasm & Laguna combo.
And I finally bought my first yoga mat, I saw this one at lululemon & I had to have it!

Anyways, I hope to be able to say that I am back into the swing of things with blogging and I hope you've all been doing great lately!

Much Love,

Favorite Sandals & Nail Polish For Spring!

Click Here For Sandals Direct Link

It's been so nice out in Washington this last week, which if you're from here or have been here, you know it's a real treat. I have been spending so much time outside, and not really trying any new makeup products, so I decided I'd share my favorite sandals and polish combo! I got these Mossimo Sandals at Target, they run  for $14.99 but randomly go on sale so keep a look out! I got mine for $12.99. Also, the polish I'm loving on my toes right now is "For Audrey" by China Glaze. I love looking down and seeing the blue and the silver together. Such a fun, casual look, and yet if you want to go out to dinner you will still look put together without having to put stuffy shoes on! Hope you've all been enjoying the weather where you live as well!

Simple Eye Using The UD Naked Palette

Today I thought I'd share my simple, easy to wear, every day eye.

Products Used

Urban Decay Naked Palette:
- Half Baked ( all over the lid )
- Smog ( outer corner/crease area )
- Virgin ( highlight under my brow bone )

Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black

Covergirl LashBlastVolume Mascara

I only used one brush, a fluffy blending brush from Sonia Kashuk.

I like to wear this look to work, and if I feel like going out afterward, I'll add a waterproof eyeliner to my water line before doing so to make it more of a dramatic look.

Hope this was helpful for finding a quick, easy wearing eye. :)

Much Love,
Heather Lee

New Obsession: Humanity Bracelets

My latest obsession is a bit behind the times, but if you haven't looked into the Humanity bracelets, I don't think there will ever be a "too late" time to do so.

I have been contemplating paying somewhere between $20 and $30 for one of these for a while now, but I just wasn't sure how they would fit and look on me. I found them on Buckle's website, but seeing as how the nearest Buckle is about 40 minutes from my house, I don't tend to get there very often.

My boyfriend and I finally needed to make the trek out of town on Monday & I knew I couldn't put off going in and checking them out anymore. Needless to say, I'm in love. There are all different types and colors, different sayings, but they all say things like "Pave The Path", "Make A Difference", "Speak Kindness", "Accept Love", & many more inspirational and insightful sayings. I knew I had to get one, but I didn't want to buy too many at once, so my boyfriend picked out a metallic blue one with some rhinestones on it, and that's the one I bought. I do plan to get more, I just didn't want to spend too much money all at once.

I think the price is worth it, seeing as how they are inspirational, and they do inspire thought and reflection. I say, even if you don't shop at Buckle, stop in and check them out. You may just like what you find.

There are different types. Some thick banded, some thin banded, some that wrap around just once and some that wrap around multiple times. They are considered unisex, and I believe they look good on everyone.

The part that makes me sad is that their website won't seem to load. I don't know what that's all about, but it was engraved on the inside of the bracelet. If it loads for you, great. If not, they are still a very unique and quality item that I believe is worth having.

Here is the link to their website: www.humanityforall.com

Hope you all enjoyed hearing about these, and maybe they are something that will interest you. :)

Much Love,
Heather Lee

Maybelline Line Stiletto VS. L'Oreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense

When it comes to drugstore liquid eyeliners, there are a specific 2 that always seem to be the favorite choice among many in the YouTube & Beauty Blogger communities. When I first wanted to get into this type of product, I wasn't sure which route to go so today I'd like to share with you my opinion between the two. First though, I will start with a swatch of them side by side.

Top: Maybelline Bottom: L'Oreal ( Both 1 Swipe )

Both products are felt tipped, both products claim to be the darkest shade of black in each brand. As you can see, the Maybelline eyeliner does not come out as rich and dark as the L'Oreal eyeliner does. The Maybelline eyeliner is, however, much easier to control and create a thin, precise line with. I believe these eyeliners cost me about the same, but it is a toss up as to which I like better. When I want subtle, I go for Maybelline, because even if you try to build it up, it stays somewhat thin and see-through. If I want dramatic and bold, I go for L'Oreal. Both are great products, both are worth the money, it all comes down to what you need your eyeliner to do.

I hope this helped and I hope you've all had an amazing Memorial Day Weekend.

Much Love,
Heather Lee

Movies Worth Mentioning: The Roommate

Adding another aspect to my blog, I'll now be doing some "Movie Reviews" of my own.

I thought it best to start off with a movie that really surprised me recently. One of my close girl friends & I decided to randomly rent a movie from Red Box last week, which I had never done before. We opted for something scary, and went with "The Roommate".

I'm sad to say that this movie seems to have gotten poor ratings because it was actually made quite well and it did keep you on your toes. It was definitely a movie aimed towards females though, I can't imagine a guy finding it "scary" but I feel that most any woman would definitely find it "creepy". It kept us saying things like "Oh my god!" and "Oh no, she's not going to, is she?!" all throughout it.

IMDB rating lands it at 4.4 out of 10 stars.
My personal rating lands it at about 6.5 out of 10 starts.

If you've seen this movie I'd love to hear your opinion in the comments below!

Sigma & Sephora Haul

Hello lovelies. I made 2 online orders last week; one from Sigma and one from Sephora. I thought I'd share what I decided to splurge on and get!

I'll start with Sigma. As always their products were nicely packaged & came within a nice time frame. I decided I'd go big & pick up the Synthetic Face Kit as well as the Eye Liner - E05 Brush. I'm extremely happy with the density & softness of the 3 face brushes, & I'm really looking forward to trying out the eyeliner brush with my gel liner.

Now onto Sephora. This was a bittersweet order for me. I placed my order late Thursday evening, and due to how far I am from their warehouse I didn't receive my order until Friday evening. Not to mention, one of the eyeshadows in one of the palettes came broken and had made quite a mess! All in all though, I love Sephora, and I will simply train myself to buy soft products in the stores when I find time to make it into the city! I picked up the Urban Decay Naked Palette, the Urban Decay Black Palette, & the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Tube (Original). I'll ad the picture of the poor shadow that didn't fare so well, but I won't be returning. I'll do my best to simply re-press it rather than wait 2 weeks to return and have a new one sent!

All in all, I'm very happy with my everything I got, as I did a little bit of saving as this much was a splurge for me! Hope you're all having an enjoyable week!

Much Love,
Heather Lee

You Are BEAUTIFUL

I'm a firm believer in the saying that true beauty comes from within. While I love makeup, fashion, and just about all things that are girly, I also like to take time out of those things to focus on me, who I really am underneath it all.

I believe the most beautiful qualities a woman can posess are integrity, honesty, compassion, and the acceptance of others.

I just wanted to take a moment to remind myself, and others, that each and every one of us is special and beautiful in our own unique ways. I hope you are all enjoying this lovely start to spring we are having, and I'll be posting a little more frequently as I start doing a bit more with my days.

Heather Lee

Mini Sigma Haul

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share with you my order I placed with Sigma. I have been contemplating ordering some brushes for quite some time now, but I couldn't bring myself to order a full set when I wasn't sure if I'd love the quality or not, so I decided I would start myself off with just 3 brushes, and use the 10% discount I had seen on Holly Ann-AeRee's twitter.

Each brush was $9. To me that wasn't pricey at all seeing as how I've looked at the Sonia Kashuk brushes at Target, and they cost more money and have an obnoxious shaped handle, so I figured why not. After shipping & the 10% off I wound up paying $29.75 for all 3 brushes. Not bad in my opinion.

Onto what I got & some pictures:

How it comes packaged.
I Chose: E30, E45, & E55
Left to Right: E55 - E45 - E30

Now onto the descriptions from Sigma, along with links to the individual brushes.

Small domed brush with highly tapered tip. Versatile, this brush can be used to precisely apply and blend intense colors to the crease area.

Precise application of color on the crease, outer corner, and upper and lower lash line. Also ideal to smudge out pencil liner. Natural bristles.

Soft and dense with a rounded finish. Can be used to apply pressed or loose eye shadows and pigments. Ideal to build intense color on the eyelid. Natural bristles.

I haven't used the brushes yet since they recommend you clean them before your first use, so I will be picking up some brush cleaner later today. I can already tell that the quality is definitely there though, and I can honestly say I will be ordering more brushes soon.

Hope you are all having an amazing week!

Much Love,
Heather Lee

1. Mood:
Content. I'm back to work after a pretty good weekend. :)

Well it basically depends, sometimes I do & other times I don't. Mostly I don't, though.

3. When was the last time you ate Sour Patch Kids?
About a month or two ago, my boyfriend got some when we saw Black Swan in theaters.

4. Current nail polish:
China Glaze - For Audrey. It's an amazing light blue & I'm loving it.

5. What is your favorite makeup removing product?
I actually don't have a favorite right now, but I am on the hunt!

6. Do you prefer to shower at night or in the morning?
Definitely in the morning, I don't like styling my hair after it's been slept on.

7. Current outfit:
Brown sandals, AE Jeans, a white tank, and a long sleeved blue burnout shirt. Comfy!

8. Halter tops - yay or nay?
Nay for me. I feel like I'm not quite the right body type to pull them off.

9. What is your favorite Disney movie?
          I can't choose just one - I am a cartoon-aholic! I prefer Pixar to Disney however.

10. Weekly goals:
Laundry, spring cleaning, shopping, and some reviews by the end of next weekend I hope.
